Mariamor - Spread Love

Think back one year. Where were you? Were you recovering from your first days back at work, getting the kids back in the swing of school, cleaning up the house from the holiday chaos, or admiring your new Mariamor Christmas gifts?

Once you find yourself, try to remember….

Was there a goal or vision for your 2017? Maybe it was a way to improve or adjust your work life, or even a new health regime.

Now, bring yourself back to today…did you achieve it?

If your answer was “YES! I totally rocked 2017!” I am writing this post only as a reminder to you to do it all again! If your answer was, “Well, maybe not, I still have a bit to go,” then this message is for you (and me). You’re not alone. In fact, experts estimate only 8 percent of people who make resolutions stick with them. Looking at that success rate, you might think there’s no point to making resolutions for 2018, but it’s never a bad idea to evaluate your life and figure out where you can make even small positive changes.

With that in mind, here are our top 10 suggestions for 2018 resolutions you just might be able to keep.

  1. Treat yourself. Whether it’s a new book, a bubble bath, a sparkly piece of jewelry, or some quiet meditation, take time to pamper yourself. Maybe you knocked it out of the park on that big work presentation, or got motivated to clean out your closets. Celebrate your accomplishments with life’s little luxuries.

  1. Treat a friend. We want you to pamper yourself… but hey, everything is better when you include a friend. Surprise someone you know with a small gift you know they’ll love. It can be handmade, store-bought, or even just the gift of time – the point is just to share something that shows them you care.

  1. Slow down. This year, pledge to live in the moment. Stop to fully appreciate and experience your daily life…or, as the saying goes, “stop and smell the roses.” It might take some practice, but once you get in the habit, you’ll be glad you did.

  1. Smile. No matter what 2018 brings, always remember that you are irreplaceably beautiful and important to the world. Take a deep breath, allow your light to shine, and never stop smiling, for in the words of Marilyn Monroe, “Life is a beautiful thing, and there is so much to smile about.”

  1. Put down your device. Like many of us, you’re probably in the habit of constantly checking your email or scrolling through your social media feeds. What would happen if you took a day – or more – away from your phone? Go for a long walk and listen to nature, or find a nice sandy seat at the beach and listen to the waves crash. This time away will allow your mind to rejuvenate and leave you feeling refreshed.

  1. Never compare yourself to others. Daily, we are flooded with blog posts, social media pictures, and snapped photos of people who all seem to be doing fantastic things. It’s all too easy to see those images and criticize yourself for not measuring up. Remember, nobody is perfect, and those are just pictures! Those people have off days and challenges, just like the rest of us.

  1. Love yourself for who you are. “Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive that is youer than you” (Dr. Seuss). There’s only one of you, and we think you are perfectly imperfect just the way you are. Appreciate your unique qualities, and embrace what makes you irreplaceable.

  1. Say “yes.” When presented with new or fun opportunities this year, say “yes!” In the past, maybe your default reaction was to say no, but this year, say yes more often and see what possibilities arise and what wonderful memories will be made!

  1. Call your family more. Always remember what is important. Life gets busy and we find that the days pass too quickly, but in spite of the haste, try to call your family at least once a week. Check in on their day or just tell them you love them. A little phone call can go a long way in showing someone you care.

  1. Spread love. “It doesn’t matter who you love, when you love, where you love, why you love, or how you love. It only matters that you love” (John Lennon). Scatter kindness around like confetti and leave only love in your wake. Whether you kiss your family, hug your friend, smile at a neighbor, or spread love through small acts of daily kindness, know that you are changing the world and making 2018 the best year yet.

We wish you a beautiful and memorable 2018! Every day, Spread Love.

All You Need Is Love
